Boarding school

The problem

One of the largest boarding schools in Denmark requested a new website and a logo.
It was important to the school that the logo and website reflected the schools profile to illustrate to users what kind of activities the school offers.
The school did have an existing website that was outdated.

The solution

A website and a new logo. In this project presentation, I will focus on the logo, as other websites are presented in this portfolio.

My role

I was responsible for the design of both the website and the logo, from start to delivery of the products. I was hands-on all the processes and used the conventional design process – Research, Design, Build and Test.

Empathize with Users

To gain a better sense and understanding of the boarding school, I visited the boarding school to empathise, observe and see the context of use. It was important that the logo and website send the signal of being a sports focused boarding school.

Define the problem and ideate solutions

I started by creating different designs of the logo and used a vector based tool to create the logo. The logo was first presented to the client in many different shapes and colours. They chose an illustration that I should continue to refine.

Final result

The logo and website was delivered to the client and they were very pleased with my work and result.

The logo was used for many years on all the school’s clothing, buildings, bus, website and other marketing material.
